Managed the nutrition department at a 140-bed hospital and worked as the sole dietitian on site.

Responsible for the coordination and implementation of the nutrition care process for the critical care unit, progressive care unit, surgical unit, labor and delivery as well as all congestive heart failure and pneumonia patients.

Updated and complied with policies, participated in interdisciplinary meetings and committees.

Worked with the foodservice staff, chef, and management to ensure meals delivered to patients provided adequate nutrition appropriate for specific diagnoses.

Registered Dietitian II at Summerville Medical Center- contracted by Sodexo- Dates Employed: June 2013 – June 2018

Cardiac Rehab Dietitian: Conducted nutrition assessments for patients in a cardiac rehabilitation program. Reviewed medications, labs, anthropometrics, and risk factors related to heart disease and establishes practical and goal oriented interventions. Collaborated with the cardiac rehab team to create individualized treatment plans for each patient. Provided education classes to patients and spouses/family members to increase the knowledge and self-efficacy of the patient in the management of heart disease.

Clinical Dietitian: Worked on a team of clinical dietitians to meet the nutritional needs of a 90 bed hospital and 350 bed hospital. Practiced Medical Nutrition Therapy using evidenced based guidelines; completed nutrition screens, educations, and full nutrition support assessments; identified malnutrition in the acute care setting and creates interventions, plans of care and follow up assessments. Participated in team meetings and interdisciplinary rounds for trauma, critical care, and floor patients to improve the care for the patient with a collaborative environment. Completed competencies required for having order writing privileges for TPN and EN. Collaborated with medical team for any interventions out of the scope of practice.
